Boyd Lake Water Treatment Project | Interstates | Web

Tapping into a renewable natural gas project for the first time, Interstates recently worked with Gevo to build a central biogas purification site and connect it to three different dairies in Northwest Iowa. Interstates provided Gevo with power distribution, PLC design and construction, programming, instrumentation, and heat trace work.

BOYD LAKE WATER TREATMENT PROJECT EXPERIENCE The City of Greeley needed to update aging equipment in various parts of the water treatment plant. When the plant was meeting demand, it would dump all the clean water back into the lake. Now, the city is able to shut off the incoming water and drain the clean water back into the plant, circulating the clean water until the City of Greeley needs it. This will save them a significant amount of money. This project won the Independent Electrical Contractors’ Industrial Project of the Year award for 2020, recognizing its contribution to society, stellar project management, and complex electrical installation requirements. KEY SCOPE COMPONENTS Upgraded an existing pump station, replaced existing 4160 volt variable frequency drives, overhauled the existing treatment plant with new instrumentation and motors, and installed a new treated water vault to upgrade the plant’s water pumping facility to 38 million gallons per day.
