Grounding Audit Report | Interstates

Section 2: Test Point Tables

The following tables show the values measured at each grounding test point. Note that some of the test points in the tables correspond to a point on the drawings of Appendix A: Planview Drawings . Note: Points with a value of N/A under the “Test Value (Ohms)” indicates a po int that did not give a reading when tested. Points with a value of N/A under the “Grounded Circuit Used” column indicates a ground whip connected di rectly to the grounding system.

Below is a chart to that indicates recommended guidelines on equipment tested for continuity and resistance.

Severity Criteria – Ground Resistance Measurement Ground Resistance Resistance Measurement

No deficiency

High

Critical

Severity:

Resistance of the Earthing Rod to Ground/Earth

4.0 - 5.0 Ohms

< 4.0 Ohms

> 5.0 Ohms

Severity Criteria – Grounding/Bonding Continuity Measurement Grounding/Bonding Continuity Resistance Measurement Severity: No deficiency High Critical Resistance of a bonding path from any point in the grounding system to a ground connection < 4.0 Ohms 4.0 - 5.0 Ohms > 5.0 Ohms

Point-to-Point Resistance

< 0.5 Ohms

-

> 0.5 Ohms

Any reading over 5 Ohms is considered Critical and a recommendation will have been made for that test point. Test points that are between 4-5 Ohms are considered high and need to be monitored for any change.
