Grounding Audit Report | Interstates

Section 2: Results Recommendations

The following recommendations are made based on the observations and measurements taken on site. The points indicated can be referenced on Table 1: Test Point Tables .

Drawing E08-02

Required Action: 1. The Micro A/C Blower in the Micro MCC Room (Area 6) had a reading of 22 Ohms. We recommend ensuring the ground wire that should be pulled in with the power cables is securely connected to the ground bar inside the enclosures. If not, a new green THWN ground wire, sized per NEC, will need to be pulled and connected to the enclosure’s grounding connection. (Point 25) Cargill has noted this recommendation has been completed. An updated Ohm reading was not provided. (Point 25)

Required Action: 1. The Dust Collector Piping in the Micro 3 Floor (Area 2) had a reading of 49.60 Ohms. We recommend ensuring there is a ground wire connected to the Dust Collector Piping and it is secure and free from damage. If not, we recommend connecting a #6 THWN bonding jumper across bolted connections where there may not be a good steel on steel connection. (Point 21) Cargill has noted this recommendation has been completed. An updated Ohm reading was not provided. (Point 21) 2. The Micro Salt Feeder Platform in the Micro 3 Floor (Area 2) had a reading of N/A, meaning there is an extremely poor or no connection to the grounding system. We recommend checking to ensure there are ground connections to building steel and that all steel to steel connections are secure. If not, we recommend connecting a #6 THWN bonding jumper to the nearest steel column or grounding connection. (Point 23) Cargill has noted this recommendation has been completed. An updated Ohm reading was not provided. (Point 23) 3. The Newlong Scale Feed Chute in the Micro 3 Floor (Area 2) had a reading of N/A, meaning there is an extremely poor or no connection to the grounding system. We recommend checking to ensure there are ground connections to building steel and that all steel to steel connections are secure. If not, we recommend connecting a #6 THWN bonding jumper to the nearest steel column or grounding connection. (Point 25) Cargill has noted this recommendation has been completed. An updated Ohm reading was not provided. (Point 25) 4. The Newlong Vibratory Feed Conveyor Tray in the Micro 3 Floor (Area 2) had a reading of N/A, meaning there is an extremely poor or no connection to the grounding system. We recommend checking to ensure there are ground connections to building steel and that all steel to steel connections are secure. If not, we recommend connecting a #6 THWN bonding jumper connected to the Vibratory Conveyor steel frame. (Point 27) Cargill has noted this recommendation has been completed. An updated Ohm reading was not provided. (Point 27)
